Hello! My name’s Chris Quach, I’m from Germantown, Maryland, and I’m a sociology major (with an LGBT studies certificate) at the University of Maryland, College Park. I love dim sum, drag bingo, found-footage horror movies, and of course, traveling!
Currently, I’m studying abroad for my whole junior year at the University of Surrey in the United Kingdom, about 40 minutes outside of London. I first studied abroad in the summer of 2011 in London through an Education Abroad program called Terrapin Take-Off designed specifically for incoming freshmen. Even though it was only for two weeks, I absolutely loved the city, the friends I made along the way, and the overall joys of a study-abroad experience. I definitely owe it to that trip for giving me the travel bug that I carry with me to this day. London in particular made such an impression on me that when I heard about this exchange program, I jumped at the chance to go back.
My goal for this blog is to provide a glimpse inside Europe as seen through the eyes of a queer Vietnamese American. If this interests you in the slightest, you’ve come to the right place! I won’t reveal my plans abroad here, but keep up with the blog and I promise I’ll make it interesting!
